Hello?

Hi folks.

I took quite a break. I mean, I wasn't planning to, but then I did. And it felt good.
What have you been up to? I've been:

Vacationing (Yes!) This my beach view on the island of St. John.

Watching Netflix too muchI made the mistake of watching one episode of One Tree Hill - Two months and eight seasons later I'm waiting for the final season to magically appear.

Reading/Absorbing/Wallowing in my lack of greatness

Eating The menu said my chicken came with Baby Carrots...

PROCRASTINATING
 Meet Francis the Frog

Plotting/Revising/Writing
(No, my second book isn't done YET. But it will be. Soon. I swear. No really.)

I participated in a super fun writing contest while I was out, made it to the final six and then crashed and burned. It was really fun though. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I started my own writers group on meetup and then promptly found the writer's group of my dreams two months later, but that's a blog post all by itself.

Starting June 1st I'll be working through the book The 90 Day Novel by Alan Watt. I'm planning to post about my progress regularly. Anyone up to work through the book as well? I've got one buddy signed up. Who else is in?

I'll be around to check out your blogs and learn all about what's hot (Fifty Shades of Grey?) and what's not (also Fifty Shades of Grey? Someone needs to explain this to me) these days, but in the meantime, keep writing!

I'm on a pretty hard reading kick. Tell me what you are lovin' right now so I can share the joy.

  1. Sounds like you've been having a nice break, even if you've been procrastinating for some of it. Who am I kidding, procrastination is fun! :)

I just read a book I couldn't stand, so I won't bother you with that. I was so relieved to finish that damn book.

    1. Hi Trisha - I ALWAYS procrastinate, I can't help it, it's a gift. Except I know when I've taken the procrastination too far when I start doing things like cleaning my house. Which might be why I'm blogging again. ;p

  4. Hi Kari,

I am so jealous. You went to the beach? You will have to tell us all about it!

I really hope that our group is the "group of your dreams." If it's not, and you're leaving us, I will be really sad. :(

If it is the group of your dreams, MINE TOO! :D I feel really lucky to be part of a local group all about YA novels. A dream come true!

I am also currently checking out Fifty Shades of Grey. O-my-gosh. I am 80 pages in and still have no idea what the buzz is all about.

    1. Liz - I did go to the beach in February on a cruise and it was heavenly. I wish I could live there.

The MNYA group is awesome. I'm really looking forward to our meeting on Saturday!

  5. Those baby carrots are awe-some. Just sayin. What have I been up to? A lot of writing. I took a long break for a while and then decided to kick my butt into gear. Feels good to stretch those writing muscles :)

  7. That wasn't a break...but rather a sabbatical! :) Great to have you back. I'm just getting going myself after a three week break.

I did have fun on sabbatical though. :)
